Superfoods to Eat for a Healthy Gut

Maintaining a healthy gut is the key to optimal health, as it’s the system that regulates digestion. It may sound like a bad thing to have a gut full of bacteria, but it’s actually a great thing! Our gut uses bacteria to process food into energy. When gut bacteria is out of balance, it can cause symptoms such as from bloating and constipation to bigger health issues and autoimmune diseases such as diabetes and fibromyalgia.

If some of these symptoms sound familiar, or you want to promote healthy digestion, here are a few of our favorite superfoods for boosting gut health!

  1. Beetroot Powder: Rich in B and C vitamins, folic acid, beta carotene, manganese, calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium, beetroot is a powerful aid. It supports healthy blood flow, cleanses the liver, reduces blood pressure and provides antioxidants. Use it in a delicious homemade pesto!
