The Surprising Benefits of Beet Juice Powder

When most people think “superfood,” beet juice powder usually isn’t the first thing that pops into their minds. In fact, we’ve found that many people don’t even know that beet juice powder exists, so how could they possibly be aware of all the amazing health benefits of this superfood?

Beets have been used since the Middle Ages as treatment for illness and to promote good digestion and blood flow. While we trust our ancestors, we know you probably need proof of the magical healing powers of this superfood before you try it for yourself… so let us convince you!

Beet juice powder is made by extracting the juice from beets and then drying that juice into a powder that is more easily digestible than whole beets. It’s traditionally consumed in smoothies and shakes, but it’s also delicious on top of fruits and veggies for extra sweetness without added sugar.

But what makes it a superfood?

Beet juice powder contains phytonutrients called betalains which give the powder its rich, dark purple color. Betalains are a great source of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents, and substances that promote detoxification. So what does that mean? These betalains help to remove free agents and toxins that may enter our bodies through the air, water, or food we eat. In other words, betalains keep you healthy all-around (and they keep you looking young, too).

Another important phytonutrient in beet juice powder is betaine, which promotes healthy liver and kidney function by helping the body recycle amino acids, processing fat, and reducing the accumulation of fatty tissue.

Additionally, the large amount of nitrates in beet juice powder (precisely 20x more than any other vegetable) helps to lower blood pressure. These nitrates also help to increase energy levels and have been proven to increase the success of a workout.

Finally, beet juice powder contains tons of beneficial vitamins, minerals, and nutrients including potassium, phosphorus, iron, calcium, magnesium, Vitamins A, B, and C, and DMG (dimethylglycine).

So basically, it’s a superfood MVP.
