Superfood Spotlight: Quinoa Sprout Powder

Quinoa is a commonly-consumed seed, usually in its mature stage, but our personal favorite way to eat it is while it’s still in its sprout stage, at the very beginning of its life cycle. Enter: Quinoa Sprout Powder!

In fact, consuming seeds at their sprout stage is a great way to get the most concentrated source of nutrients and enzymes, as a newly developing sprout is loaded with potential energy. The less stable cell walls of the sprouts make them easier for our bodies to break down, so we actually get more benefits than when we consume quinoa at its adult stage. That’s great news because it’s one of the richest sources of nutrients on the planet! Not only is quinoa one of the few sources of plant-based protein, but it also contains all essential amino acids. It’s high in fiber, live enzymes, a variety of vitamins and minerals, and is particularly high in iron.

Quinoa Sprouts are extremely high in B Vitamins like B6 and B12, and contain abundant amounts of iron, fiber, and calcium. Our Raw Organic Quinoa Sprout  Powder is also a great source of Vitamins A, C, D, E, and K, and minerals like potassium, manganese, chromium, selenium, and threonine.

You can see why this super seed was a staple in the diet of the Incas for hundreds of years! Quinoa originated in South American, and now the entire world is able to enjoy the nutritional benefit that ancient civilizations prized so dearly. Research has also shown that for those grains containing gluten, at this stage the gluten content is reduced and is in a more easily digestible form.

Incorporating quinoa sprouts into your diet is a lot easier when you use quinoa sprout powder, because you can add it to any meal! Most people enjoy adding this sprout powder to their smoothies and homemade energy bars, or sprinkling over salads and soups. Check out the delicious recipe below for inspiration!
