Regroup from the Fourth of July with a delicious detox recipe

We figured since we’re coming off a holiday weekend, pool parties, summer barbecues and beach trips (hello, snacks!) that we could all use a little detox.

“Detox” tends to invoke some scary thoughts, doesn’t it? As if we need to immediately remove everything in our pantry, take on a strict diet or just stop eating altogether. But it doesn’t have to be– no, it shouldn’t be this way!

Detoxing can have a wonderful effect on our bodies, and it’s possible to do it without struggle or restriction. What if I told you that you can hit the reset button and give your digestive system a break just by adding a couple key ingredients to your morning smoothie?

Here’s one of my favorite detox recipes, made with cleansing beet root powder, which purifies the bloodstream and provides a renewing source of iron. It also contains a scoop of oat sprout powder, which has a rich amino acid profile to aid digestion and fight off illness.
