5 Easy Ways to Add Superfoods to Your Daily Diet

When it comes to eating superfoods to improve your health, it can be overwhelming to choose which ones are best for you. There are so many options! If you're just starting out on your superfood journey, or you're looking to simplify things, here area a few options to maximize nutrition without adding extra time to your day.

You can easily boost your daily nutrition and enhance your regular routine by incorporating a teaspoon or two of your favorite superfoods.

1. Make a Smoothie

The ultimate breakfast, snack, dessert, or addition to any meal is the smoothie. Cold, delicious and easy, smoothies are any health guru’s favorite way to incorporate superfoods. Why? First off, it’s simple to fill smoothies with tons of superfoods. Wheat grass juice powder, chia seeds, flax seeds, you name it. Many popular smoothie ingredients (like fruit and nut butter) tend to mask the taste of those bitter greens. Most importantly, smoothies are fun! Let your creative side shine and experiment finding your ideal blend.

Here’s a quick smoothie formula: use a frozen banana as a base, add one cup of non dairy milk, one cup of leafy greens, half a frozen banana, one tablespoon of nut butter, and add in your favorite superfoods.

2. Top Your Salad

Like smoothies, salads are a blank canvas: greens just waiting to be topped with superfoods! Plus, there’s nothing complicated about throwing together a salad for your lunch break. How does a kale salad sound, topped with goji berries, hemp seeds and almonds? Or perhaps a warm option, like quinoa salad, loaded with coconut flakes and goldenberries. There’s no end to the combinations you can make with salads. You can add in as many superfoods as you’d like, without a complicated recipe. Just add oil and vinegar, plus a squeeze of fresh lemon and you’re ready to eat.

3. Add Mushroom Powder or Maca to Your Coffee or Tea

Coffee on its own can be healthy, and has been shown to provide cardiovascular support, boost brain function and improve mood. But by adding a teaspoon of Reishi (or any type of mushroom) powder or maca powder you can upgrade your daily cup of joe even more! Try this method for making your morning mushroom coffee.

4. Use a Superfood Blend

Incorporating super blends into your daily routine is a perfect way to get a ton of sprout and green powders into your system without drinking a smoothie or juice every hour. In other words, combining your favorite powders into a super blend allows you to enjoy the varied benefits of many different superfoods in one! Need proof of its powers?

5. Grab a Snack

Snacking on superfoods is simple, and often there’s no assembly required. A handful of nuts, seeds and berries is enough to fill you up in-between meals and provide you with a full day’s worth of vitamin C and antioxidants! Blend your favorite nuts and seeds together for a healthy trail mix each week, so you’re stocked for snacking on the go. Dried white mulberries provide support for good cardiovascular health and a strong immune system, and nuts like walnuts contain high levels of alpha-linolenic acid which is known to improve moods. Feel free to go nuts. (Sorry, had to!) Grab a handful of cacao cashew clusters for a combo of healthy fats and antioxidants.
