4 Superfoods to Fight Inflammation

A surprising amount of the health issues we face on a daily basis stem from inflammation in our bodies. Generally, inflammation is the result of a reaction to stress (think: mosquito bites), and it’s one of our bodies’ natural immune responses. And while inflammation is a healthy response in most cases, chronic inflammation in our bodies can lead to premature aging, acne, bronchitis, chronic pain or diseases, high blood pressure - the list goes on. Maintaining a balanced diet with little added sugars and processed foods can help reduce inflammation in your body, but what if we told you there were superfoods that you could eat every day to make a huge difference?

Try incorporating a few of these powerhouse ingredients into your diet to naturally fight inflammation everyday!

1. Beet Root Powder

A lesser-known superfood that has amazing benefits when it comes to reducing inflammation. Beet root, referred to more generally as beets, contains high levels of a nutrient called choline, which is related to the Vitamin B family. Choline helps our bodies detoxify, while supporting the functioning of acetylcholine, which works to get our nerves and muscles moving. Most importantly, choline helps to reduce high levels of inflammation in the body.

2. Hemp Seeds

Many people know that the Omega-3 fatty acids in hemp seeds are great for improving brain power, but did you know that these fatty acids also reduce high levels of inflammation in your body? When there is inflammation in the body, osteoclasts, the cells that break down bones, are activated. Usually, osteoclasts help us remove old bone cells, but when our bodies are filled with too much inflammation, they start removing good bone as well. Studies have shown osteoporosis present in animals with low levels of Omega-3 fatty acids, so it’s important to maintain high levels of fatty acids in order to strengthen our bones.

3. Noni Powder

One of the most effective superfoods when it comes to transforming your skin due to its anti-inflammatory properties is Noni Powder. Often called “the queen of health plants,” it also provides full-body detoxification. Both of these benefits, plus the mineral selenium found in the noni plant, help promote glowing skin. Inflammation is often the cause of some of the most common skin issues including rashes, itchiness, redness, and chronic conditions such as eczema. This inflammation can result from sun exposure, chemical irritants, or allergens, but thankfully a chemical substance in Noni Powder called scopoletin provides the plant’s anti-inflammatory properties.

4. Camu Camu Powder

Camu Camu Powder can help address a variety of health issues by decreasing the inflammation in your body, from poor immunity to acne. Plus, this miracle fruit offers strong support for healthy eyes, gums, and skin because of its abundance of amino acids like serine, valine, and leucine.
